Proper nutrition when we have cystitis

Cystitis is a term which indicates inflammation of the lining of the bladder.
Normal bladder missing bacterial flora. Causes of acute cystitis may be a large number of microorganisms.
Most often, cystitis caused by intestinal bacteria. Unfortunately, most women are familiar with this sensation of discomfort and frustration in bouts of cystitis. Severe pain, heaviness in the lower abdomen, can painful visits to the toilet – tested once characteristic symptoms can’t be mistaken for anything else. We are going to introduce you to what constitutes cystitis and how to choose the right diet to deal more quickly with this disease.

Causes:

-After sexual intercourse.
Although one of the most common causes of cystitis is intercourse, it is important to note that cystitis is not a sexually transmitted disease. During sexual intercourse, especially when more “passionate” such pierces the penis in the vagina can cause a momentary opening of the exit of the urethra, which facilitates, the above-described intrusion of bacteria that are located at the entrance of the vagina into the urethra and bladder. The disease is not a sexually transmitted disease as women typically are contaminated with its own bacteria.

-Inadequate hygiene.
The lack or poor personal hygiene may be a predisposing factor, but more often the opposite – excessive hygiene, through the use of disinfectant soaps, vaginal showers, which aims to “disinfect” the vagina and the vagina leads to the destruction of “saprophytic” flora (microorganisms, which normally colonize this area and does not pose a threat) and thereby facilitates the development of a pathogenic virulent and resistant bacteria that cause cystitis.

-Insufficient fluid intake.
When taken a little liquid, respectively, and urination is less, which reduces the purely mechanical “washing” of the urethra and bladder of urine, and thus the bacteria have more time to multiply.

Proper nutrition
The food can become one of the important factors in the treatment of cystitis. Of course, there is no way to replace the drugs completely, but it is quite possible to speed up the recovery. To achieve this, there are two basic rules:

-The first rule –
You should drink as much as possible fluids a day – about 2-2.5 liters. Involving infusions of fruit or leaves
of cranberry, oats, bearberry, birch buds, leaves, chamomile, nettle parsley – they are efficient and helpful and have diuretic and antibacterial action. Thus, the infection is “washed” by the organism and bacteria fail to persist. At the same time regulate the acidity of urine – in acidity occurs most unpleasant burning sensation when urinating.

-The second rule –
By cystitis useful are watermelon, melon, grapes – for its diuretic properties, vegetables, except tomatoes and asparagus, dairy products. Intestines must function normally because constipation occurs intoxication, which in turn can lead to cystitis. For this menu must be present and foods that are high in fiber: bread, pasta from durum wheat, cabbage, carrots, cereals, oatmeal, and rice.

-The third rule –

Еxclude all irritants. It is recommended to drink black tea and milk and in no case to drink coffee and drinks containing caffeine. It should also exclude alcoholic and non-carbonated beverages. You should not eat sour, salty, fried, spicy, spices, pickles, and canned foods. If it is not possible for these products and foodstuffs to be excluded completely from the menu, at least their use should be limited.

Preventive measures to prevent cystitis

To avoid cystitis and/or its recurrence is important to keep the following tips:

1.Abundant fluid intake: the more fluids we drink, the shorter the bacteria stay in the bladder.

2.Establishing a balance between excessive and lacking intimate toilet: avoid disinfectant gel showers and soaps. In a nutshell, nothing more than an ordinary everyday outfit. You should avoid frequent wearing tight underwear and astringent (eg thong), tight pants and jeans, which can cause maceration (abrasion) of the skin of the genitals, which is a prerequisite for further infection.

3.Regular hygiene during the cycle, regular replacement of sanitary napkins or tampons is mandatory.
The genital toilet is done with movements from front to back.
Avoid overly “passionate” traumatic and anal sex. Urinating after sex allows purely mechanical elimination into several bacteria that are caught in the act in the bladder.

If you have doubts that you suffer from cystitis call your doctor immediately! Those are just tips to make you feel better again, but you should not avoid medical examination.
